Thoughts on lower unit ski rope damage

Hi All, tangled the ski rope yesterday and it snapped off a peice if the lower unit skirting. The remaining edge was slightly bent, I was able to bend it back in line with a soft mallet. But leaves a chunk missing? Thoughts?

So long as its not cracked the drive is safe. Only issue which may be a problem is the brake may cause air bubbles and the prop will ventilate. Only way to know is try it

Here is a better pic of the damage with the entire lower unit in the pic. I was able to use the boat with no noticeable change in boat performance.

Seems small enough to not really be a problem... If you're concerned with it causing any cavitation, you could rivet on a piece of aluminum for now until you can get it welded back up.
