Well, I let my stepson hook up the tilt & trim cylinders for my 3.0 cobra while I was at work. When he was attaching the cylinder rod, he banged on the threaded end with a hammer & screwed up the threads, so I can't attach the nut. I don't have a die to cut new threads. Anyone know a quick fix to repair the threads? Thanx.

Re: Thread repair

Depending on how bad the threads are damaged. Use a tri or triangle file and slowly work around the threads, cutting down into the grooves. This is time consuming and requires a lot of patients.

Best just to buy the Die.

A cheep die at a hardware store should be able to fix it

You do not need a really good one just to clean up the boogers
