Throllte Control removal

I am refinishing the interior of my Sunbird Runabout. I am wondering how the throttle control handel is removed so that I can remove the pannel behind it. I destroyed the old pannel to remove the controler in one piece, but I still need to remove the handle so that when I re-install the new pannel it can be in one pie ce. <br /><br />Has anyone remove one before. It's on a 1989 Sunbird, the controler is an OMC with an Evinrude 88.

On a Mercury Controller there is an allen set screw that tightens the handle to a splined shaft. The throttle only button, located in the center of this shaft, unscrews. This allows the handle to be removed.
