throttle cable adjusting?

1987 150.....i thought i saw it in the manual but i cant find it now...when you reattache the shift cable and the throttle cable what is the proper way to do so....i see the cables are adjustable so im looking for the correct way to hook them up

It's hidden in the remote control section Dawgs.
Push the fast idle lever down.
Shift controller into forward.
Shift the controller back to halfway between forward & neutral.
Move the engine throttle lever tightly against the idle stop screw.
Pull on throttle cable to remove backlash & install trunnion nut in pocket.
If cable is too lose idle speed might be high and inconsistent.
If cable is too tight control effort might be high through shifting range.

Does that sound familiar?
