Throttle cable adjustment

Hello All,
I just rebuilt my carb on my 4.3 liteer Celebrity motor and was wondering if the cable might be in need of adjustment ? When I put the cable back on, I had to pull the cable really pretty hard to get it screwed onto the carb, I do not know if this is normal or if I need an adjustment

The cable should be adjusted to slide on easy, then turn the barrel nut one more turn away so it will apply a slight pressure to keep the throttle closed at idle

Ayuh,..... In neutral, at idle, the cable should put a tiny bit of tension against the idle screw on the carb,....
