Ok guys, im trying to set up my throttle cable on my 63, 40 hp johnson electramatic. where is neutral on the motor itself supposed to sit? when you push the throttle forward, the cable goes in, so pulls the linkage on the boat forward, when you go backward the cable goes out so pushes it back....but when i was trying to start the boat without the cables hooked up, if the linkage was all the way back it was like there was no gas? and then it kind of clicked forward then if you pushed it all the way forward it was flooring it...
can someone just please explain how this shifter works? and the throttle on the boat itself...
