Throttle Cable Slack

As in the video when in N there is no slack in the throttle cable at the carb. If I put it into gear or raise the RPMs without putting it into gear there is a ton of slack in the cable at the carb. So sometimes when I am throttling up the RPMs will not be steady and go up / down a little.

Even if I have somebody hold the shifter and make sure it doesn't move I can still move the throttle cable like in the video. It's like there's a bunch of slack in it but it doesn't do it when in N.


Does it sound like I need a new throttle cable?

Ayuh,...... If at Idle, the control cable is puttin' a slight pressure against the throttle stop screw/ idle screw on the carb,....
And,.....
At Wot, the throttle plates of the carb are at full vertical in their bores,.....

The throttle is workin' perfectly,......
