Where can I get a good used throttle control cable for my 1978 Merc 115? If anyone has one, they can email me at the address below. Or I need the plastic thing that goes on the end. My cable is good, but the plastic thing is broken.

iBoats has one for 27.00 including shipping, but I dont want to buy the whole thing unless I have to. Or should I just go ahead and buy it?

Just a semi-seal Nathan . If you'er talking about the black wiper that goes on the end, try a little RTV silcone to hold it together if you still got the pieces. Not ness. to replace cable for just that...

Well I think that it is broken inside somewhere, because when I take it off, the cable slides just fine. When I put it back on, the cable wont move. I dont know what the deal is with it. I am indeed talking about the black deal on the end of the cable that goes on the motor. Im not sure, but I think that the proper term is "the black doo-dad with the hole in it" but Im not completely sure. LOL :D

I believe these are not replaceable, you'll have to buy a new cable.

Is this motor on a bass boat ?

Reason I am asking I had a guy with a bass boat that had throttle cable not working, I checkd it for few minutes, then find out it has a Hot Foot below dash, that's where cable is connected, the lever on remote control is not operable

wouldn't cheap out on the cable, if it breaks in
the middle of the lake, you'll wish you spent the
$27.00!
my .02,
M.Y.
