I have a quicksilver 3000 classic control attached to my 90 hp Merc 4 stroke. The throttle only button is stuck in and won't come back out. I'm not sure what year the control is but it's a 2001 motor on a 1999 Lund Pro v boat. I saw a service bulletin on a Mercury page that said that if there was pretension on the cables that it may cause the throttle only button to stick or malfunction. This may be the case. I'm not sure how to get the throttle handle off, all the linkages in the back of the control set are off and I can't see how to get at the parts I'm thinking need to be played with.

Does anyone either know how to fix this or at least help me get it apart to see if I can fix it?

thanks.
