I have a 1984 Sea Ray Monaco that I am restoring. I am putting a new throttle and thottle cables in it. The throttle I bought from teleflex has three wires for the trim switch. Blue (trim up), Green (trim down), Red (power) but, I have a purple wire coming from my trim motor for the trailer feature. Is there a way to fix it to where the lower unit will go into the trailer position without having a trailer button on the throttle? I appreciate your help.

What do you have there. OMC, Mercruiser, Volvo. And what drive? Makes a big difference.

You can bypass the trim limit switch so that the up button will take the unit all the way up, without having to use the trailer button. If you do bypass the switch however there is a danger of triming the unit up too far while underway and causing major damage. The choice is yours.
