I have a Mariner 15 with tiller steering and tiller shifitng.
I had some problems with the shift mechanism and it turns out the previous owner left out a bushing on the secondary gear pulley. I got the new part and installed it. The shifting is fine now but I am only getting a partial throttle in forward. The only way I can improve this situation is by lengthening the linkage between the throttle and the gear. I find this to be unusal as it I have to almost run it out of threads to get a decent opening on the carb. My neutral position is also out of alignment. I know there has to be something in common with these two problems butI can not figure out what it is.
As far as I can tell there is only one way to install these parts as they are all keyed.
Any help would be great.
****
