I have been told that my motor (OG423431 1996 225 carb.)throttle pos. sensor settings should be 0.950 @ IDLE and 3.80 @ WOT.I checked this by turning on the key on the boat and checking the lav.wire with the red stripe with my digital volt meter at idle I had 3.70 Volts, and with the throttle wide open I had .77 Volts. this is backwards from what I was told it should be. I turned the sensor shaft 180 deg. and my alarm started beeping.Any one tell what's up with this, bad sensor,???

Re: throttle position sensor

That is correct, I dunno? I would take the tps off and test the tps with an analog meter to see the sweep of the tps, a digital meter will just confuse you more. I would find the most resistance area of the tps, this will be your idle setting and try to match the tps up with the key maybe.
