THROTTLE

Hi all,<br /><br />I just got a 2005 Crestliner 1850 Sportfish rigged with a Yammy 150. Now Crestlerner now owned by Brunswick Corp. is only selling boats with Mercs which Brunswick also owns. But I got the dealer to call Crestliner and request the boat be rigged for a Yammy.<br /><br />So there I am in my Yammy rigged boat up on Greenwood Lake and someone tells me I have a Merc Throttle!!! When I ask the dealer she says its an aftermarket made by some company that "Makes Most of them".<br /><br />Anyone have Merc Throttle's? Any problems?

All of them make controls that can be used on any brand now, except for the wiring. But there is an adapter so that you can use a Merc Control on a Yamaha. Some of the Mercs are made largely by Yamaha, so the adapters were intended for those. But as far as I know, they'll work will most Yamahas.
