I read a lot of posts about the thrust washer behind the prop. Do all outboards have a thrust washer? I don't recall seeing one when I changed my prop, but apparently I need to find one? I assume a competent boat 'garage' will have one? Is it something I can get at a local supply house?

Re: Thrust Washer.

The thrust washer goes on the prop shaft before installing the prop. It is what the prop thrusts against in forward motion. If you don't have one, check the back side of the prop you last had on the motor -- it's probably stuck on the back of it.
