Thrust washers

I recently purchased used Michigan wheel Rapture SS prop didn't come with the thrust washer. Have my old one from a factory Volvo prop but it fits a little lose 1/8 of an inch movement. Is it still okay to use it ? Would like to try the thrust washer from my TP prop but its on the boat an hour a way. So I guess my question is Do I have to get the correct thrust washer for this prop . Thanks for any info

The thrust washer in a lot of cases centers the prop on the propshaft, and not all props use the same thrust washer. Using an incorrect thrust washer can allow the prop to be installed off center allowing it to wobble on the shaft, closest to the gear case, and ensure unwanted machining of said housing.
