Thunderbolt ignition converter box question

Where does the CONVERTER BOX in the thunderbolt ignition get it's power?
I have the thunderbolt ignition. It may have been added to earlier motor.
Right now power is from red wire from always hot battery cable terminal on the solenoid.
The motor runs fantastic, just concerned I'm going to burn up some thing on this 30 yr old motor.
I looked at the wiring diagram for 1991 J-1994 . It seems to get power from the purple wire (ign on).
But the label on the converter box says "red". I don't have and reeeaaally don't want to run another wire form the key switch back to the motor.
Any and all thoughts, knowledge, experience or Wild Ass Guesses appreciated.

Don't know what a converter box is
If you mean the TB ignition module then Power comes from the purple wire from the engine harness

It's a 1991 or so Force 150
The box that takes 12v form battery, converts it to ac sends it to switch box.
Since I don't have a switched power from the engine harness, any idea how much risk I'm taking getting power directly form battery terminal of starter solenoid?

The ignition system gets power from magnets in the flywheel which generating AC voltage in the stator winding.
This AC voltage is regulated in the regulator and sent into the converter box through the keyswitch.
The converter box convert AC voltage to DC voltage which been stored in capacitors in the switch box.

Then 12VDC from battery is just for starting and aux stuff.
