I did a conversion on a mercury 2005 2-Stroke, 25 hp motor from Tiller to Remote controls. Basically, I did some basic testing - but have yet to rig the whole thing onto the boat. There was a "Shift Detent Pin" with the shift cable conversion, but I did not understand how or where to put it onto the motor. I read online and it seems that it kills the spark temporarily when putting the motor back into neutral, to make the shift easier.
Anyone know, where this "shift detent pin" actually gets added to the motor? I couldn't figure it out. or if I really need it?
