Tiller for early 80's 40 hp Merc

I used to have an early 80's Merc 402 40 hp (great motor, except for the "safety mechanism" that won't allow you to pull start if it's in Forward gear, which usually slipped into forward about half way through a pull...ouch) Anyways, I regretfully converted it to remote steering and sold it. I have the till and F-N-R controls if anyone has a use for it.

I have no idea, if I had to guess, I would say "yes" it would work...but I'm no expert. Hopefully someone here can jump in and answer. Where do you live?
