Chris: I don't really understand what you mean by "sticky". Is it binding or what? What size and model motor is it?

Tiller Handle Grip - Sticky

I put a new tiller handle grip on and it is real sticky - what do you guys use to loosen it up. It isnt the gears, they are greased - the grip has some friction on the handle bearings. I was thinking grease - but figure with all the knowledge here maybe something else works better.

Thanks!

Re: Tiller Handle Grip - Sticky

'59 Evinrude 18hp (sorry)

There is friction between the grip and the metal on the tiller arm (all the parts are there, spring, metal piece and grip) - kinda like really clean plastic and metal - no slide, really creaky sounding and resistant.
