I am doing a light restoration on a Mfg runabout. The boat came with a vintage Evinrude OB (1959 Golden Jubillie 35). The boat has old school steering cable and pully. The OB still has a tiller control arm on it. I would like to remove the tiller control. Is this a good idea? Seems like dead weight. Mitch.
