TILLER TO REMOTE STEERING

i have a johnson 35 hp tiller operated motor,model#J35RC1G,serial #e5539372, electric key start. i was wondering if this could be converted to remote steering and throttle.i would like to install a center console and still use this motor if possible.<br />also if it is possible where can i obtain the parts. thanks

Hi<br /><br />This should be a 1981 model. You can do this in easily. I think your motor is a remote model, converted to tiller, as most electric start are remote models. But just buy the two small brackets holding cables at each side of motor. The gas on the right and gear on the left. Attach gas to the little arm at the motor end of tiller bracket. Motor is prepared for this already. If you want, you can remove the tiller handle at link. If your not satisfies with the tiller bracket left on, you wil have to purchase another handle for the motor ( expensive )
