I'm having an issue with my tilt on my outdrive. I haven't had any issues until today. We went on a fairly long cruise and one of the exhaust boots seemed to be extremely hot and was sizzling. When we got back to the ramp the tilt wouldn't come up. On the side of the pump there is a relay with a 10 amp circuit breaker. This looked fried and melted a bit. Any ideas what would have caused this? This is a $300 part so I would hate to replace it and have another melt down. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you press the DOWN button, does the pump motor run?

You do not need to replace the entire trim pump assembly for the sake of one solenoid.
Find the real problem before throwing money at the wrong item.

The 10 amp fuse is for the control circuit. There is also a 100 amp fuse on the solenoids for the pump motor.
