tilt and trim 200 yamaha

I have torn apart and replaced the O-rings on my push rods twice before. (It's a 1999 model). The plastic spacer was destroyed both times. My question is does the spacer go to the front or the rear of the o-ring or is there one in front of and behind it? Also when replacing hydralic fluid, are there any tricks to keep air out and do a better job of it so I don't have to tear entire unit apart for a third time. I have taken everything apart and cleaned it both times in the past.

for that I will have to wait until I get home on the 15th of jan.<br /> best I remember there is one wiper on each piston and the go above the oring but only the service or parts guide will tell.

Thanks for the reply. I tore it apart yesterday and everything was ok. Apparently I have some air in there. How do I bleed the air out? Is there a bleeder valve somewhere?

nope.<br /> that showa unit is a pain to bleed. try to keep it as full as posible while reassembling. be aware that if you over fill the resevoir the resior will break due to hydralic presure.<br /> that system does not use fluid presure to force the rams down just up.<br /> other than that its a matter of cycling the system full up to full down. allow the motor to cool for a few minutes after several cycles.
