Tilt and trim pump issues

Hello everyone,

I have a mercruiser 898 with a pre-alpha out drive, everything was working just fine until I took it out last, I noticed that when trimmed up the outdrive just drops all the way down and will not hold the outdrive.

The oil is fresh and I tried bleeding to get any air out,, but nothing has helped, I know it is a long shot, but any opinions on wether to replace the rams the pump or both? There is no oil leaking out of the rams and the oil level in the pump has not changed at all.

Any and all advise on this would be greatly appreciated

Ayuh,.... Odds are it's the check valve in the pump, 'n an outside chance it's the ram's seals...

Thanks for the response, is there anyway of checking the valve in the pump? or is it best to buy a new one
