I was given a boat a month ago I also received the OMC after market repair book with it. The boat is a 1976 galaxy model 700br1 with an omc 120 inboard/outboard. This is my first boat. But the person that gave it to me took the tilt clutch assembly apart and when I got the boat all the parts where sitting in a bucket all rusted up. I took them to work and cleaned them up but now when I tried to put it back together I can't seem to figure out exactly how it goes back together. The book doesn't have this information in it. The BOM does show the break down on it but it only shows one set of clutch disk and pressure plates. I have 4 sets, 3 conical spacers, two shims, one double sized pressure plate, a washer, and some C clips. I've tried about 5 different ways to put it back together and I either wind up with it being too loose to work or I don't have enough room to clip the C clip into place. I do have a picture of the whole assembly and apparently that was suppose to be the way it was removed but wasn't. The problem that I'm having is the picture is a fuzzy black and white picture that doesn't have enough detail to do anything with. What I wanted to know is if there is a IPB or BOM that list in full detail how to reassemble the clutch assembly. I've searched on the internet for the last 3 weeks and can't seem to find any thing on it. I would greatly appreciate any help I could get on this matter.
