Tilt problem

I have twin 150s. Today the tilt switches--the one on the motor and the one on the dash--were not able to raise the motor. They would lower it readily but only click weakly when I tried to tilt up. A year ago I had to replace the motor on the starboard side at a cost of $1,400+. Could this be just a relay or a weak contact?<br /><br />Gil

Sounds like a Relay..swap them and see what happens.<br /><br />TMD

Many thanks! I discovered that when I slacken up on the contact with the blue lead, the tilt works; when I tighten the nut, it only clicks. I'll be replacing the relay (or is it called a solenoid??)
