So yesterday I was checking the gauges and switches to make sure they all worked when I found out the Tilt switch next to the Trim switch was disconnected. I have a 4.3l OMC with a OMC/COBRA sterndrive. Is this switch of any use?why do you think it was disconnected? Thx

You probably have a control that included both switches. You only need the one switch.

Not sure on your model, there are some OMC's that have a TILT Mechanism on the front motor mount

on Mercrsuier, the TILT operates the outdrive to go UP beyond the point the Trim Limit Switch is Set so that you can TRIM the drive up and stay in a safe point of operation for the gimbal, ujoints and upper bearings.

Both TILT and TRIM usually do the same thing, the TRIM is not a smaller adjustment than the TILT, just the TILT operates the lifting beyond the TRIM Limit Switch

Not on his OMC. He has an OMC Cobra. He also doesn't have a Mercruiser.
