tilt & trim failure

I have a 100hp merc 1989 2+2. The T&T gave it up recently. The electric portion is in good shape. There is only slight movement up & down ,& only rarely. I've done the filling & purging by the book. At present the engine is midway between up & down. The hyds. do not leak down.However, there was 90wt. gear oil in the system. I've done my best to flush & fill w/atf.
I might be mistaken but there appears to be hammer tracks on the hyd. cylinder.Thanks in advance. I got very good help
concerning my 88hp johnson from folks here. Ya, lucky me i own 2 boats..

Thanks for the reply. My question is why the t&t does not function. I believe i've stated what i've discovered so far. Sorry about the lag in replying,i work alot & do the best i can.. Thanks B.

After inspecting the parts from my T&T unit,i've decided it's best have the unit professionally repaired. I'll be shipping it out this week. Thanks for the reply..
