I have a Johnson 2001 90hp motor that I use in salt water.
The trim guage quit working.
Can anyone give me some tips to get this guage working again? Thanks

I always wonder why anyone would need one of these.

Anyway it’s either a bad gage, bad sending unit, or a wire fault somewhere. The sending unit is a simple potentiometer – check it with an ohm meter. The readings and a troubleshooting procedure are in the shop manual.

To check the gauge, run a small jumper fron the "S" (sensor) terminal to ground. If the gauge is good, that will peg the needle every time you touch ground.
