Tilt/Trim indicator

2001 Mercruiser 5L, alpha outdrive, carburated. Tilt/trim indicator on dash is permanently stuck in the far right position even though the outrive pivots fine. Gauge has 12v to it but I am uncertain if this means the gauge is bad or something else, ie sending unit. Any ideas??

Check the sending unit on the outdrive. Also if it is stuck far right, probably the wire/sender is shorted. And you might get better results in the Mercruiser forum...
