I have a 88 Bayliner 1950 bowrider with the Chevy 3.0 140 hp engine. I launched the boat and lowered unit into the water using the tilt switch to warm up the engine. When I tried to lower it to the running position the unit was dead. I opened the manual release to lower the unit to use the boat, however I need to raise it again to get it onto the trailer. The solonoid swithces are clicking. I am getting current to the connector between the solonoids and the motor leads. The problem appears to be the motor but after reading peoples earlier comments about testing I am not sure. Do I need to have the motor connected to check the power coming out of the solonoids?, If they are clicking can't I assume they are fine? How do I raise the lower unit without a pump to transport the boat to my home for more repairs. Thanks in advance.
