Hey folks, I've looked up an down the forums, and have not found someone with the same problem. I know to start with the electrical, then move to hydraulic and mechanical. I believe my issue is electrical,a s I cannot hear the solenoids kicking on. I've checked all the wiring and batteries, along with the voltage, but the thing that is so strange to me is that when I hit the trim up/down buttons, you cannot hear anything kick over. What it does instead is shoots the fuel gauge all the way to the top. It will do this on the port and starboard side.

I've had no problems with this last year, but this year the boat has caused me nothing but problems haha. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Once again, motor is a 95 150hp evinrude/johnson intruder series.

Thanks!

anytime a fuel gauge pegs out when you try to use another item it always seems to be a dc negative problem. Not sure what you mean by the port and starboard side comment....

I would suggest finding the relay box (think yours is under the cowling) then look for a black wire that's bolted to motor somewhere close. Remove and clean the connection. Next unplug the trim motor from the box then put the leads of the volt meter into the plug (relay box side) get someone to try the trim and the volt meter should go to 12v + or - when the other trim button is pushed the polarity should change so if it was + it should now read - . If you get no voltage at the plug then under the cover of the relay box there should be a wiring diagram so you can trouble shoot the problem.

Thanks agian I appreciate it! I cleaned the 8 pin harness and this problem seems to be fixed. Now all I need to do is figure out the OIS 2000 ignition system. I was having issues last year starting it and thought it may have gone bad, but it was still cranking and running well.

Now that I have the trim working again, it seems the OIS is giving me problems. I went through and checked and it's getting power, but the plugs are not getting any spark. They are saturated in fuel/oil, so I know it's a spark issue. I'm going to go through the repair manual and see what I can find.

Once again, thanks!
