Hey guys, its been a long time sine I last posted here but I need your expertise again.

1996 maxum bowrider
4.3l mercruiser i/o
alpha 1

Heres the situation.

I put the boat in the water, everything was working like normal. I lower the motor enough to get it in the water and start her up. I backed the boat out of the landing and when I tried to trim it down, nothing. Both "trailor/up and down" dont work.

The pump does click, or maybe the relay when I push the button but no movement. Luckily I was still able to trailer the boat home, the skag was about 4 inches from the road...SCARY.

I checked the fluid today, its very white/milky so im assuming water got in there some how. The metal housing that everything was bolted to is completely rusted. I pulled all the grounds off and cleaned the connections, this time I heard the pump kick in but it was extremely slow and only stayed on for a few seconds. Then back to the clicks.

Jumping the 12v to the blue or green does nothing either, do you think the motor is seized? or an issue with the pump portion? any advice/help would me most appreciated.

Thanks guys!

Go to "adults only", #9, download Manual #14 (gen II), Section 5 will tell you all you ever wanted to know (and more:D) about troubleshooting and fixing your trim pump.
