I flipped the relays and does the same thing. I can hear the motor ruining but no action going down. Is it the tilt/trim motor? how can i check for hydraulic oil? Please Help

Are you sure the "trailering bracket" didn't accidently get flipped down?

Re: Tilt/Trim problem 1977 175hp

I just had the same problem with mine. I had to play with it. My manual release valve would not work. I had to have someone else with me and worked the trim at the throttle. He put pressure on the motor and it went down without any problems. The rod is slightly bent and went it goes up all the way, it gets caught. I know this now. I won't let it go all the way up. Everything on mine is fine now. Try to get someone to give you a hand.

Hopefully this will help some.

I removed the tilt and trim and removed the motor. I clean the motor from the inside and found a small connection relay was not connecting properly . I adjusted and it work perfectly fine. Thanks again for everything. It was not easy removing the unit because i have a bracket extension for the motor but i was able to make it. I'm bleeding the unit by the way. :)
