Tilt/Trim Problem with a 1997 C40 Yamaha

When I press switch to trim up or down I only get a click at the motor and that is it. It started a few months ago, but after hitting the button a few time it would still tilt fine. Not working at all anymore. Any troubleshooting suggestions.
