95 200 oceanpro. tilt works fine up but when raised fully and then down the motor jerks abrubtly on the way down. If I hold up on the motor lightly then it comes down smoothly, this only occurs on the single cylinder. the double cylinders work fine

Re: tilt trim problem

There is a couple plastic bushing where the upper pin goes through the end of the ram up under the swivel bracket. These may be in need of grease/replacement or both. Have you shot any grease into the two fittings for the tilt tube?

no I did not check the bushings. I will check them this week end. I did check for air and leaks on the cylinders. They appear to be ok. <br />I did spray the lower pivot points where the tilt housing is attached to the motor mount. There was a good bit of corrosion there, mainly small barnacles but didn't seam to be binding there.

Liberal use of grease on any salt water engine is a good idea rn'r. Specially on parts that contact the water.
