My boat has sat for 3 years and now im gonna get it out on the water. So i decided to change the bellows on the old Alpha 1. Well i took off the trim TL And TP switches on the sterndrive and did the service. Now i think i may have put the trim limit switches on wrong because all i get is a click. So i took the trim motor apart and put it back together and with the sensors off, it will go up and down. But when i put the sensors back on and move it , when i stop moving it and try to move it again, it goes back to just clicks. Is there something ive got wrong? I have the quicksilver type of remote with bow up/ bow down and trailer buttons.

Re: tilt/trim problem

You may just have the Trim limit switch out of adjustment. Here is the instruction sheet for installing the switch. It also gives adjustment procedures.
Instruction sheet

If that is not your problem, check out the trouble shooting section in the OEM service manual. Here is the link for it.
