You guys have helped me a lot with my last boat,
I just picked up a newer model with a problem. so here I am again.
I purchased a 2004 Bayliner 212 with a alpha 1
outdrive it's 5.0 mercruiser. During the test drive everything worked fine, I spent 1 hour on the lake testing (after delivery) everything worked fine. Then I put it in salt water and the trim gauge quit working. No big deal there, it would still trim up or down just not indicate where it was. Then getting home during the flush, the trim would lower but not rise unless the trailer mode was pressed.
1. could the sending unit be bad already?
2. could the gauge stuck in the up position not allow the unit to raise except to trailer??
3. Or could it be something I haven't thought of.
I'm hoping it's something simple so if you have any ideas I'm all ears
Thanks
C-Stick

Re: Tilt / Trim problems

Check the connectors on the plug at the pump. I also think there is a fuse there at the power wire
