tilt trim sensor help needed

have a 1996 kayot ultima setting in the shop yard. just got the cooling system cleaned up and working well. it was setting a slip on the water for two years so i can imagine what the issue is. heres my symptoms: with the out drive turned one way the tilt trim gauge works but turned the other way it does not. so im assuming that there is a bad connection or corroded contact. whats the best way to get to the sensor? im new to the cobra sx outdrive so any help is appreciated thanks in andvance

well the boss is not going to get one so if you know the general location of it that might help

It's in the same place as the Mercruiser Alpha I, Gen II and Bravo gauge senders are located. Starboard side of the gimbal ring. Wires go through the transom shield.
