Tilt/Trim stopped working

So the trim has stopped working on my 1994 seaswirl 180 SE 5.0L V8. It was working fine earlier, no weird noises or anything unusual, and then when I went to raise it, nothing. It doesn't click or make any noise at all. Tried it in gear, out of gear, in neutral, moving, not moving, everything. How do I go about troubleshooting what the problem could be?

I just figured this same thing out on mine. i could hear a single slight click in the up or down? Not sure exactly what I did and why it worked but here is what I did. I reset the 50 amp breaker and that did not do anything. I then took the 10 amp fuse at the pump and reseated that, I also took out and reseated both relays and ensured all other connections at pump were snug.

Then it just started working. I think it was simply a loose connection on one of the relays, fuse, etc. not sure if this helps or not but I just kind of tried stuff and got lucky. Good luck.

Just had an issue with mine a couple weeks ago. It would lower, but not raise. I could hear a click however. I was able to get it to work by tapping the relay with my finger while my daughter thumbed up the toggle switch. I replaced the relays, went ahead and did both, from Hella, the part maker and now it works fine.

Guys. I'm an idiot. It was the little red fuse. Pushed it to reset it and boom, works great! Thanks for your replies!!

Where is the 50 am circuit breaker for the trim motor located?

Mine was on the right side of the trim pump, which was under the engine cowling.

Where is the 50 am circuit breaker for the trim motor located?

Mine was on top of the engine towards the left side.

Mine was on top of the engine towards the left side.

Left side when you're looking at the engine (ie towards the stern)? Or the Port side of the boat?

Sorry, yes looking towards the stern it is on the left side.

Nailed it Pc!! Thanks. Found the breaker, reset it and the trim motor is now working. I suspect the switch on the throttle lever stuck and caused the problem in the first place. Looks like another 'to do' on the list.

That's awesome. Love these forums. I was on the lake on the boat last week with my iPad and would never have figured out what to do on my own. Glad I was able to give back something that I used here.
