When lowering the stern drive I hear a different noise than when raising. Its a 88 glasstream 2.3 liter ford with cobra drive. While raising, it sounds normal. Lowering,it sounds more like a high pitch squilling. It used to sound the same until I had the ideal to check and add fluid. I had read some post that suggested transmission fluid ok. Also think I read were it bleeds itself.
