tilt trim weak

I took my tilt trim motor off to test the motor to see if if would work, it spins freely put the motor back in and it runs and it will go down but not back up! out fluid in and motor just keep running when push the switch, now i also put a new o ring on the manual screw and i can not get it back in with the o ring on! if i take o ring out it screws right in i got the o ring from napa auto stores, the motor is 110 omc. question is three aspecil o ring for the manual screw? ti leals fluid out of screw, i am thinkin it cause air in the cylinder and not letting go up? please advise am at my wits end1 Thanks

If the manual release is leaking fluid,the unit won't work.if the release screw won't go in with the o ring,it is probably the wrong o ring,but try it with oil on the o ring.<br /><br />Otherwise ... see your Johnson/Evinrude dealer,and get a coke.<br /><br />Sorry I meant get the real thing.<br /><br />DHP
