Any type of relief valve or anything to protect motor transom if the lower leg hits say the drive way or bottom. I have an 1986 120 johnson.

In the drive way probably no. Out on the water, yes. What the relief valves do is try to keep the mtr from coming in the boat depending on how fast you're going. You'll still have damage depending on what you hit.
