motor: 88 SPL 1996

I am attempting to remove the tilt tube so i can replace the swivel bracket.

the schematic on shop.evinrude.com would have me believe it should slip off once the end nuts are removed.

the thought of adding heat occured to me but before taking that action i wanted to give a shoult out here to see if i'm missing something.

In theory it should "slip" out. We've always had better luck when we're to the point you are to remove one stern bracket. Sometimes both.
