tilt worm gear won't come out

I have a penta 280 outdrive. i have taken the tilt motor and assembly off and trying to take it appart because it is jammed,nowI can't get the worm gear out. is there a trick to this?

yeah...not sure what part you're referring to. if it's jammed...you may bent the vise rod or the spring may be worn out...in which case you can put in a washer...

are you sure it's mechanical and not electric?

a used one on ebay goes for about 250. start your bidding.

Well I took a hammer to it last night and got that vice gear out. It was bent so I guess it won't be a quick fix. Thanks for your input guys
