i just purchased a 1971 60hp johnson model # 60esl-71c

is there a lever that allows you to tilt the motor up while you are driving other than the cotter pin bolt on the back of the engine?

any assistance would be appreciated. thanks

Not if it doesn't have a trim & tilt cylinder.

no it does not. thanks, my older johnson 40 hp had a pull out bar that allowed me to tilt it up higher when it was on the trailer driving. thanks again

Inside the mounting bracket ... a cylinder about 4" in diameter and 8 to 10 inches long would be a trim cylinder. Trim assy has two hydraulic rams in the same area. Without either, it's solely the armstrong method, I'm afraid and stopping to reposition the tilt pin as needed..
