I time both set of points off of top dead. Is this the correct method of timing. What indication do you use to time off?

Re: Timing issue

I checked the top secret file, I couldn't find information pertaining to adjusting the gap. I could have been looking at the wrong top secret file, I don't know I am new to this forum. Thank you for pointing me in that direction. I guess I will keep on looking. I take it you shouldn't be timing off top dead?
cheers,
Paul

Re: Timing issue

Open the cover/cap on top of the flywheel. When the point set is centered in the opening, set at .020". Then turn to the next point set and repeat.
