Anybody have a digital timing light/tachometer that works well and they like? I have an Equus Innova 3568 which won't pick up a signal on my 1990 Johnson 60. Will the Actron CP7529 work on this engine? Any other suggestions on a good one? thanks!

Re: Timing Light/Tachometer recommendation?

My timing light is just the inductive type that snap's on the plug wire made by Snap-On. What I like about it is that it has quite a bright flash that is a little more visible out doors which is handy dealing with outboards. The problem with it would be that you pay alot these day's for the Snap-On name. The sale's slip is still in the box from when I bought it in 1972, so it has stood the test of time. For average use, I would check with Sear's as the price would be much more reasonable. There are any number of tach's of the inductive type sold by the people who cater to the outboard trade such as Steven's, but again, the price can go quite high for just occasional use.
