I've been doing some research due to the ignition problems I've been having - and ran across something related to advancing the timing by adjusting the timing roller. Alot of guys say this should be done on any 60 degree motor - sure its simple to do but whats the side effects of doing this?
Reason for doing this: advancing the spark before the throttle plates start to open, helps acceleration on some boats and richens up the midrange which can help during heatsoak.
Picture of how it looks before the adjustment - notice the arrow - it states the roller on the right should be touching the arm on the left
