1990 200 hp evinrude . replaced power pack, timer base , sator, with digital cdi units ,and replaced flywheel . Runs as good as it always had before power pack went south , but starts at the flip of the key . top rpm is 5300 no hesitation but timing is off about 8 degrees with a test wheel in the water . should i mess with it or leave it alone ? the timer base is flush against rubber stop at 5300 rpm would backing off the the rubber stop, letting the timer base move more toward the front of the motor give it more rpm ,and make it run better .
